September 2023 update
The purchase of 30 solar panels in the Bristol Community Solar Array, approved two years ago, has resulted in significant savings for the town. Compared to 2021, the cost of town office electricity use declined from $2,025 to $1,089 in 2022, a 46% drop. The bill for the Fire Department/Highway Department garage went down from $1,200 to $519 over the same time period, a 57% drop. With these savings, payback to the town for the solar panels purchased in 2021 is on track to be completed in 12 ½ years, as projected. Residents can be proud that over 50% of the Town’s electricity is carbon emissions-free!
