2026 Town Meeting Day Elections

ARTICLE 1: To accept the reports of the various Town Officers. PASSED

 

ARTICLE 2: To see if the Town will vote on the sum of $678,349.98 to defray the expenses for the Highway Department for the ensuing year. (Estimated amount to be raised by taxes $578,349.98). {Amended to remove the budget line-item “Sidewalk Maintenance [$3,500]” from the Highway Budget reducing the amount to be owed by taxes to $574,849.98.} PASSED as amended

 

ARTICLE 3: To see if the Town will vote on the sum of $30,000.00 for Fire Protection for the Town of Weybridge. PASSED

 

ARTICLE 4: To see if the Town will vote on the sum of $15,000.00 to continue the Town Sponsored Volunteer Recycling Program for the ensuing year. PASSED

 

ARTICLE 5: To see if the Town will vote on the sum of$26,767.00 to continue the partnership between the Town of Weybridge and the Town of Middlebury for membership at the Ilsley Public Library for all Weybridge Residents. PASSED

 

ARTICLE 6: To see if the Town will vote on the sum of $261,402.64 to defray the Operating Account expenses for the ensuing year. (Estimated amount to be raised by taxes $170,594.84). {Amended to reduce the line item on the General Budget for VLCT Dues by $16,000, reducing the amount to be raised by taxes. Amended amount for VLCT dues is $2,500 and amended amount to be raised by taxes is $154,594.84.} PASSED as amended

 

ARTICLE 7: Shall the Town of Weybridge establish a Reserve Fund to be called the Unanticipated Expense Reserve Fund to be used for unanticipated expenses in the regular budget cycle in accordance with 24 V.S.A.ยง2804? {Amended to add the the phrase “to be borrowed and paid back”.} PASSED as amended

 

ARTICLE 8: If the Town of Weybridge votes to establish the Unanticipated Fund Reserve Fund, shall the Town of Weybridge deposit $75,000.00 from the insurance fund to the Unanticipated Fund Reserve Fund? {Amended to change the wording of the name of the fund to “Unanticipated Expense Reserve Fund ”.} PASSED as amended

 

ARTICLE 9: Shall the Town of Weybridge adopt the following resolution: Shall the voters of Weybridge call upon the General Assembly to discuss, take testimony, and vote on H.433 during the 2026 session? H.433, an Act relating to Incremental Implementation of Green Mountain Care, would establish publicly financed universal primary care, mental health services, and substance use treatment as a first step in phasing in universal health care for all Vermont residents. PASSED

 

ARTICLE 10: Shall the Town of Weybridge consider the following: It is the sense of the gathered citizens of Weybridge, Vermont at our town floor meeting this March 2, 2026 that all supply and /or funding by the U.S. government of weapons and military and logistical assistance to the regime of Israel must cease as long as Israel is engaged in the genocide of the Palestinian people, especially in the Palestinians' rightful homelands. Thus, we declare ourselves an apartheid-free community and to that end, Shall the Selectboard and all Weybridge elected leaders be encouraged to end all current and future town business, investments, and contracts with companies as long as such companies engage in business that sustains Israel's apartheid, genocide, and illegal occupation of Palestine? DEFEATED

 

ARTICLE 11: To see if the Town will vote to have taxes paid to the Town Treasurer on or before October 15, 2026. PASSED
